Over two years in development, the pilot episode of Dragons is on the brink of completion–we just need a little more help from you to finish production and make it great. What we’ve been able to accomplish so far has been fueled by independent support and belief in the project. We’ve pulled favors from friends in the film industry, used locations of families and friends, had our moms make breakfast for the crew, and rolled along on a shoe string budget. Our belief in Dragons seems to resonate. It has caught the attention of renowned skateboarder Mike Vallely, who has agreed to play the character Eric Ron, the mentor of the Dragons. Kickstarter excites us because it creates a venue for our friends, family, and new found fans to show your support. Your donations will not only keep this project breathing, but will allow us to take it to the next level.
We are looking for your help through kickstarter to raise $8,000 for completion of the pilot episode. The funds will be added to our budget to help us take care of the crew and cast, plus pay for wardrobe, props, web design and other filming expenses. We also plan to submit Dragons to t.v. pilot competitions and film festivals that require submission fees. The funds will also go toward travel expenses once we start ’shopping’ Dragons around. All these costs add up and we could use your help.

The third Mike Vallely / By The Sword show went down this past Saturday night at the Slidebar in Fullerton, CA. Upon arrival, the bar and restaurant portion of the club were already raging full on so I knew it was going to be a rowdy show. After loading in the gear and getting settled in, we split for some grub. When we returned, the venue was packed and Rick Thorne’s band, Good Guys In Black were about to play and out of nowhere Weeman got caught in a mosh and set off the pit. After Good Guys in Black, Mike Vallely / By The Sword took the stage. The banner was raised, cameras were in position and the band kicked the bro mecca bar’s ass with their inspired Black Flag tribute set. They added in a few more tunes including Agent Orange’s “Bloodstains”, Minor Threat’s “Filler” and “We Are 138″ by The Misfits which had guest vocal duties from bass player Colin’s girlfriend, Christine. Mike V Is Giving Away The Hat Right Off His Head (To the highest bidder)!
Mike V has officially retired his fitted Mitchell & Ness New Jersey Nets hat that he has worn almost exclusively thus far in 2010 and now it can be yours if you’re the highest bidder. This is a fitted hat size 7 1/8 that has been worn by Mike V for almost all of January and February of this year and in which he performed with his band By The Sword and which he also wore while filming his BANGIN! @ The Berrics.
Warning… Mike V wore this hat a lot… It has sweat stains and it stinks!!

Mike V Appearances At 6 Zumiez Locations This Month!
Mike V will be hitting the road later this month for appearances and autograph signings at select Zumiez stores in the midwest and northeast. These events are not to be missed!
Also, to those planning on attending these events, now might be a good time to look into joining the Mike V Fan Club. Fan club members attending these events will get their first real taste of the privilege of membership on these upcoming Zumiez dates… Private meet and greet with Mike V will be guaranteed to all members and Mike will be sure to make each members time with him in each city memorable. You can’t beat that!

Transworld Skateboarding just posted up this video of Ed Tempelton at the opening of his art show, a photo exhibit entitled, “The Seconds Pass.” Hear Ed explain how he got the name for the show from Mike Vallely, the story behind some of the pieces and more, just before the opening night. The exhibit runs until April 3rd at the Roberts & Tilton Gallery..
