Mike V Chases Down Purse Snatcher.

Things got wild on Twitter last night as Mike V chased down a purse snatcher while in Waikiki, Hawaii and Tweeted about it soon after. If you missed out on Mike’s reports (Tweets) from the scene of the crime, I present the screen captures below as well as a quick summary from Mike on what went down:

“First of all, typing on an iPhone especially when you’re all worked up can be difficult so please excuse the type o’s in my tweets. Really, it wasn’t that big of a deal. I saw a guy snatch an old ladies purse and make a run for it. He did it in front of a lot of people and plenty of people chased after him but as soon as he slowed down everyone backed off as this dude was big and scary looking. I stayed on him. I never broke into a run, as I said in my tweets I went Jason Voorhees on his ass and stalked him down until he was out of breath and could run no more. At that point it was just him and I. All the other do gooders shrunk away, it was too real. I followed him into a shopping mall and cornered him. He was exhausted from his run and I stayed right on top of him until the cops came. Right before the cops came I spoke to him, I said, “You’re cornered man. You shouldn’t have stolen that ladies purse.” He said, “Yea.” And then the cops came in and pounced on him. I walked away and just kept walking. Another night in Gotham.”

    Mike V – The Dark Knight…

But seriously. it’s not common reaction in people these days.
Most of worlds population are not so brave.

The story shows that You are a really good person. A role model for many !

The words “Stand Strong” (from the movie) and “Never Give Up” (Mike V and The Rats song) are now a motto for me.
I don now if tomorrow I’ll be still a skater, but I will remember those words

Thanks for making us Hoalies proud.

One must pay it forward, to get it back.
Good deeds come back ten fold…

But we must not do good deeds and expect anything in return.
We all should do them because they are the right thing to do.

  4. Drew H says:

They should make a comic book based on Mike. That would be AWESOME!

Mike, I heard about your heroic moment on the Jason Ellis show then on his tweet. You are a true hero not many people have what it takes to stand up for doing the right thing no matter what it takes. Most people would yell, or give chase for awhile, maybe use their cell minutes to call the cops. But not you, you saw an old lady get jacked and did the right thing. I have always liked you as a skater now I like you more as a person, citzen, and role model. People/critics have always labeled you a punk more into anarchy then anything else, well I hope this story and the hockey
stick story start to change the minds of these people. Thanks for being a good person.

Thanks everyone for the very kind words… I greatly appreciate it. Yea, you know it’s funny… The same values and standards that drove me to take action in Waikiki are the same values and standards that drove me to take action in the Honda Center… Same guy, same principles. It’s strange how many people have said that what I did at the Honda Center was wrong and these are also the same people who wouldn’t have the nerve to do what I did in Waikiki. The thing is my ethics do not allow me to ignore these situations. If I suspended my consciousness and just allowed these things to happen without taking action I couldn’t live with myself. Right or wrong I will never suffer from the absence of action.
